The SOWER Ministry is primarily one of physical labor.
SOWERs use skills such as carpentry, electrical, plumbing, roofing, masonry, mechanics etc., to do construction, remodeling, building repair, vehicle repair or landscaping.
We also use skills such as cleaning, painting, sewing, tutoring, landscaping, assisting in the office, or anything they can do to help with the host's ever-changing needs.
There are opportunities for everyone of reasonably good health to contribute in some way.
Members travel in RVs that range from large class A motor homes to small pop-up trailers.
Some are full timers living in their RV; some can only travel and serve for one three week period a year.
Members are free to choose what ministries and months they serve by reviewing the published project listing.
SOWER’s RV ministry follows a realistic rhythm that allows couples to serve faithfully while enjoying the journey.
Serve with purpose through three-week projects that provide enough time to make a meaningful impact without requiring long-term commitments. This structure helps couples plan travel, stay flexible, and avoid burnout while serving.
Enjoy a sustainable four-day work week, typically totaling 24 hours for men and 12 hours for women. This balanced schedule allows couples to serve wholeheartedly while preserving energy for rest, fellowship, and time together.
Experience the freedom to rest, sightsee, and explore local communities outside of service hours. SOWER’s project rhythm leaves space to enjoy God’s creation, build friendships, and return home refreshed rather than exhausted.
Luke 12:37 Blessed are those servants whom the Lord will find watching when he comes. Truly I say to you that he shall gird himself and make them recline; and coming up he will serve them.
