SOWERS

The man of a husband and wife work team or a single SOWER commits to work 72 hours per project-month.  The actual workdays as well as the start, break, lunch, and finish times may vary to meet the needs of the project host (we are SERVANTS), but the following is a “typical” project work schedule.

A SOWER Project typically starts on the first Monday of the month and lasts for three consecutive weeks.  A work “week” is four days, typically Monday through Thursday, and a workday is six work-hours long.  A typical SOWER day starts with devotions (singing, prayer and Bible study or a devotional) led by one of the SOWERS and lasts 30 minutes (7:30-8:00AM)…each SOWER is expected to participate in, and encouraged to take a turn at leading morning devotions.

The man’s workday then starts at 8:00AM and he work for two hours (8-10AM) at which he takes a 30-minute break (10:00-10:30).  He resumes work for another two hours (10:30-12:30), then takes a one-hour lunch break.  He resumes work for another two hours (1:30-3:30PM), after which the workday is complete (6 hours per day).

If a woman elects to work (and most do who are able), she also starts work at 8:00AM, works for two hours (possibly stopping a few minutes early to prepare for the morning break), takes a 30-minute break (10:00-10:30), and finishes work at 11:30AM (3 hours per day).

Single SOWERS (men and women) are expected to work the six-hour per day schedule.

The week following completion of project work is a “free week.”  Members are free to remain at the project with the host continuing to provide RV space and hookups.  SOWERS may use that opportunity to visit the sights in the area, for rest and relaxation, or they may choose to move on down the road.
