If you are a Christian ministry and want our assistance or more information concerning our ministry, please contact us by telephone, fax, email or US Mail (see contact page for detail) and request an Application for SOWER Assistance.  A Christian ministry is defined as a church or a para-church organization, including those that are preparing people or caring for people, that is governed by traditional, evangelical, Biblical principles and has a purpose to openly proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ. You should be aware that the SOWER Ministry does not support ministries whose facilities, staffing, theology, ideology or goals are directly influenced by the National or World Council of Churches or its member organizations.  We require applicants to provide us with documentation from the IRS (or equivalent for foreign projects) stating that the applicant is a tax-exempt, non-profit organization…in the United States that means a letter from the IRS stating that the applicant qualifies under section 501c3 or 509a of the IRS Code.  We require as well a Statement of Faith and Purpose Statement showing that the applicant project is Christ-centered.

 You should also be aware that, at the present time, we have more projects in the Northern states and during the summer months (April through October) than we have members willing to work them.  We have a number of members who leave their homes in the winter and work Southern projects, so we always have a need for winter projects (November through March) in the Southern states.
