SOWERS

A Board of Trustees governs the SOWER Ministry.  The Trustees serve three-year terms and may serve only two consecutive terms, if nominated and re-elected.  Presently there are nine Trustees, each serving three-year terms; therefore, each year there is an opportunity for the membership to elect or re-elect three Trustees.  The Trustees then elect officers to serve as President, Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer.  Out going Trustees may be asked to participate as Advisors who serve in an ad hoc capacity at the discretion of the Board of Trustees.

Our ministry operations are set forth in our Constitution and Bylaws and are further described in the Membership Guidelines.  Each member is required to read, and agree to abide by, the SOWER Ministry Constitution, Bylaws, and Membership Guidelines.

There is an Annual Business Meeting, generally in later September, the location of which varies from year-to-year giving members the opportunity to attend, and another Board Meeting, typically in March, and thus far it has been held in the vicinity of our Texas home office.  There are also four to five reunions throughout the country each year (two of which host the Board Meetings).  We encourage SOWERS to attend reunions and open business meetings in order to get better acquainted with each other and the ministry.  Regular business meetings are typically open to all members, while executive sessions are closed to all but the Board and invited guests.

Matt 20:28: …the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many.

1Cor 9:19: For though I am free from all, yet I have made myself servant to all, so that I might gain the more.
